Gardet House

To the Origins

The history ofMaison GARDET dates back to 1895.
Charles GARDET founded Champagne GARDET in Epernay.
The first bottles created were brut tradition, brut réserve 1er cru and brut rosé assemblage.
These emblematic cuvées have evolved over time, but are still present in the range.

Several important dates for the House:

1895: founding of Maison GARDET
1921: Georges GARDET (1895 -1952), son of Charles, takes over the company
and, thanks to the purchase of the Champagne De Tassigny premises, moves to Chigny Les Roses to create his own GEORGES GARDET brand.
1936: He takes over the brand created by his father to perpetuate the family history.
1952: Beginning of Champagne GARDET shipments (notably to England).
1995: First Charles GARDET prestige vintage, a cuvée created in memory of the founder
and to mark the 100th anniversary of the creation of Champagne GARDET.
2001: Creation of Rose de Saignée Charles Gardet made exclusively from the 1er cru vineyards of Chigny Les Roses.
2007: The Prieux group takes over management of Champagne GARDET.
It completes the family's champagne production, which originated in Ludes with the PLOYEZ- JACQUEMART champagne house.
2016: Creation of the prestigious CHARLES GARDET blanc de blanc.

Vineyard location

Gardet 's Champagne roots are rooted in the vineyards of the Champagne region.
As a négociant-manipulant, the company produces its exceptional cuvées
from its own 5-hectare vineyard estate
and a hundred or so hectares operated by partner winegrowers.

Know-how

As an independent, family-run champagne house
the company's small size allows it to explore traditional working methods.
But as a négociant, the company is able to create refined champagnes.
Maintaining the quality and character of its champagnes year after year
while taking advantage of the latest technological innovations
to master every parameter of the winemaking process.
GARDET's expertise lies in this precious balance between tradition and modernity.
The house elaborates its champagnes in compliance with the rigorous AOC
regulations, and makes every effort to respect its commitment to the environment, quality and food safety.
